Itamar Ben-Gvir

Otzma Yehudit
Party Leader (Otzma Yehudit) · Nationwide, Israel · 2026
PurposeItamar Ben-Gvir is leading Otzma Yehudit's list in Israel's October 27, 2026 Knesset election on a platform centered on military escalation against Hamas, Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank, and hardline immigration and judicial policies.

Security
Ben-Gvir's platform calls for shifting Israeli policy in Gaza from containment to sustained offensive pressure, opposing any ceasefire arrangement that would leave Hamas intact, and easing the open-fire regulations that govern Israeli security forces. As National Security Minister, he has said he will demand the Defense Ministry portfolio in the next coalition, arguing that someone from outside the military establishment is needed to overhaul the IDF's rules of engagement, which he views as overly restrictive. Otzma Yehudit sponsored the 2026 law establishing the death penalty for convicted terrorists, which the Knesset passed 62-48. Ben-Gvir has also called for the "immediate application of sovereignty" over the West Bank alongside the full dismantling of the Palestinian Authority, presenting it as a response to Western governments' recognition of a Palestinian state.

Immigration
The party's signature proposal for the 2026 campaign, a plan named Disengagement 710, calls for a new government Emigration Ministry to facilitate the emigration of Gaza's population to third countries such as Turkey, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and unspecified Arab states. Otzma Yehudit's stated targets are roughly 250,000 departures in the plan's first year, rising to about 1.86 million within seven years, with departing residents offered an absorption package covering travel, temporary housing, vocational training and employment support for up to 24 months. The plan would be financed by an initial NIS 10 billion Israeli government outlay intended to draw matching contributions of up to NIS 50 billion from international donors. Separately, the party has proposed creating a national immigration authority whose mandate would include identifying and expelling people it designates as "enemies of the state" from Israel.

Governance
On judicial policy, Otzma Yehudit backed the 2023 judicial overhaul and has pushed for further changes, including giving elected officials greater control over the Judicial Selection Committee, narrowing the scope of High Court review, and eliminating the evaluation course currently required of Supreme Court candidates. Party No. 2 Tally Gotliv has proposed dismissing the sitting Attorney General immediately upon formation of the next government, and the platform calls for incorporating elements of Jewish religious law into the judicial system. Ahead of the 2026 vote, the party also petitioned Israel's Central Elections Committee to bar the Arab-led Ra'am party and its leader from running, describing them in campaign materials as supportive of terrorism.
