Tina Kotek
Economy
On the economy, the campaign proposes expanding access to infant and toddler childcare with a path to universal preschool, cutting red tape to speed home construction while expanding down-payment assistance, creating a new Department of Commerce to strengthen public-private coordination, setting enforceable statewide permitting timelines for businesses, and recruiting jobs in renewable energy and life sciences alongside the state's existing tech, agriculture, timber, and food and beverage sectors.
Health
On health care, the campaign commits to strengthening access to mental-health and addiction care, fighting insurance-rate hikes, defending the Oregon Health Plan from federal Medicaid cuts, protecting rural maternal-care access, working with other states to bring down prescription-drug costs, and banning the use of AI to deny insurance claims. It also commits to protecting abortion, birth control, and gender-affirming care access against federal restrictions, including safeguarding Planned Parenthood's ability to operate in the state.
Immigration
The campaign commits to standing up to ICE and opposing new ICE detention facilities in Oregon, preventing license-plate-reader data from being used for immigration enforcement, and protecting immigrant and refugee families' access to schools and hospitals.
Education
On education, the campaign proposes increasing classroom instructional time toward the national average, real-time attendance data and support for schools to improve it, continued investment in literacy (high-dosage tutoring and phonics-based instruction), moving away from standardized testing toward real-time assessment, strengthened graduation requirements, and limiting social-media access on school-issued devices.
Infrastructure
The campaign proposes prohibiting new data-center development until statewide standards are in place governing electricity rates, clean-energy requirements, and water and air protections, alongside continued investment in climate resilience for wildfire, drought, and extreme weather, and a goal of protecting 10% more of Oregon's climate-resilient lands and waters over the next decade.
Governance
The campaign commits to defending Oregon's vote-by-mail system against federal interference and to protecting LGBTQ+ Oregonians and other groups from what it describes as federal attacks on equity and civil rights.
